‘Palestine will never give up to Israel'

The Deputy Head of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziad Enkhaleh, has said that Palestinian resistance would never surrender to Israel.

Enkhaleh told Press TV on Sunday that the historical and real Palestinian nation’s choice is resistance against occupation and it will never end until the Israeli aggression continues.

“It will never surrender to Israel. Israeli aggression is going on. We will respond to all Zionist attacks. And we will defend our honor of Palestine, too,” he said.

The resistance will do its duty anyway to protect the Palestinian nation, Enkhaleh added.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of Islamic Jihad said recently that the Palestinians always reserve the right to respond if one of its members is killed.

“The enemy insists on fighting, and is not interested in calming tensions. The Islamic Jihad Movement is committed to defending the Palestinian people, and has the right to respond to Israeli crimes. Israel bears full responsibility for the repercussions of the crimes,” said Daoud Shehab.

Israel had launched a 22-day war on the impoverished Gaza Strip in December 2008 and January 2009, killing more than 1,400 Palestinians — mostly women and children.

The UN fact-finding mission headed by South African judge Richard Goldstone had accused Israel of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during its onslaught on Gaza.

However, he recently retracted his report, saying that he was wrong to say Israel had deliberately targeted civilians during Gaza war.

Regarding the issue, a senior Islamic Jihad leader, Ahmad al-Mudallal, said, Goldstone’s U-turn was because of “pressures exerted on him by the Zionist lobby.”

The U-turn may encourage Israel to wage a new war against the Gaza Strip and “commit more massacres,” he said.
