Sheikh Zindani in Yemen calls for "khilafah rashidah" to massive crowd chants and takbirs: March 2011. Note: we dont necessarily agree with all the sheikh's views or past comments/actions. However, he is calling for Khilafah openly and this is to be commended and we pray it is a good step forward in reviving the Islamic thought within the masses. Certainly judging by the reaction of the crowd here, the public opinion for Khilafah and shariah is alive and kicking in Yemen.
[Brief translation]
All praise belongs to Allah, abundant peace and blessings upon his Messenger, his family and noble companions. To proceed:
I would like to say few words that perhaps may sound new to you.
O people! The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) informed us about the various stages of political rule that will come to pass over the Islamic ummah [Ahmad, Musnad, 4/273 (#18596)]. He informed us and said that it is Prophethood and the Prophet was at the helm of this type of rule. He said: “there will be a Khilafah according to the way of the Prophet”; which was the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate era).
He (the Prophet) then said: “the there will be a harsh and severe rule (mulkan `addan)” and this ‘harsh and severe rule’ began after the the Khilafah Rashidah came to an end.
What can be understood from the statement of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) is that families will rule and govern the people with a harsh form of governance.
And then the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) informed us that Allah will remove this harsh and severe rule. He will replace it and remove it and a new phase of ruling will come about. Then he (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “then there will be a coercive rule (mulkan jabriyyan).” Coercive! Coercive! Coercive! – meaning, with force, with iron and fire!
According to most of the Muslim scholars today, this coercive phase of governance that comes after the harsh form is what we are currently living in – the coercive phase of governance that uses force. So be patient and listen and obey.
Force and coercion is the means of ruling. It remains with force and it will fall with force. This is the coercive form of ruling.
Chants: Allahu Akbar!
The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “Allah will remove it (i.e. this phase of ruling and this condition) when he intends to remove it. Then there will be a Khilafah on the way of the Prophethood.” – After the coercive phase of ruling.
Last Ramadan, I had spoken regarding political, geographical, legal reports and documents that all suggest the era of the new Khilafah is on its way!
Chants: Allahu Akbar!
The American Security Council affirmed in the last section of one of its documents presented to Barak Obama that by 2025, the Muslims will declare the establishment of the Khilafah.
(4 mins 55).
As for the representative of the leaders of the Russian Council, he has a book on the clash of civilisation in which it states, ‘that in 2020 we will see a new, global civilisation emerge extending from China in the East to the Atlantic Ocean in the West. And it is called the Islamic Caliphate.’
Many people might ask, ‘how is this Khilafah going to be established while the Muslims are cheating these autocratic governments, while others are put in prisons and yet others miss the time of the Fajr Prayer in their own homes?’
How will it be possible to establish the Khilafah given all this?
(6mins 30)
Some also ask how can the Khilafah be established when the different aspects of the state, ruling, media and abilities of the Ummah all seem to be heading towards the opposite way?
When the wind of change swept through Arab lands in one direction, you cannot say that it was due to humanitarian efforts. For who was more convinced than Muhammad Bou Aziz in fleeing himself when this happened? No one! Not anybody! And who was more convinced than the city of Tunis in arising against the Ben Aziz – a matter no person could control.
Likewise, o people, is the example of Egypt! Women who took the decision to descend upon Tahrir Square each saying: ‘I have come here not to set fire to myself but i have come to Tahrir square to ‘set fire’ to the regime or else be killed in the process!’
Chants: Allahu Akbar!
And the people heard this call saying: ‘Allah, we will not leave it, we will go as one!’ They came out initially with only 150 people. Weeks did not pass in Egypt except that crowds of people began to gather reaching nearly 10 or 12 million. What is behind this? It is a cause that cannot be explained by statistical studies.
what I want to ask however is: is this the time for a beginning – the beginning – of the coming of a second Khilafah?
We ask Allah to help our Ummah and We ask Him to rectify her condition.
Chants: extended chants.
