Eid ul-Fitr is on Sunday 19th August FRIDAY, 17 AUGUST 2012 18:30

Since the moon for Shawwal was not sighted, Eid ul-Fitr will be on Sunday 19th August 2012 insha'Allah.

This is based on the hadith of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم where he said:

"The month of Ramadhan may consist of twenty-nine days. So do not fast until you have sighted it (the new moon) and do not break fast, until you have sighted it (the new moon of Shawwal), and if the sky is cloudy for you, then complete it (thirty days)." [Muslim]

We pray to Allah that He accepts the good deeds of the ummah performed during this month. We pray that next Ramadhan will be under the shade of the Khilafah Rashida. Ameen.
